Congratulations on the move. Sounds like you know the right steps to stay in recovery and connect with others in recovery. It's hard to not go after what feels normal to you, in relationships and more. I spent years choosing the wrong people to be in my life until I found my own recovery. I spent last weekend at an Al-Anon convention and was blessed to be the speaker on Saturday night. Someone there likened it to be like a pep rally and it did feel like that. I was reenergized when I got home to get back working my program even harder. I so appreciate your honesty and openness in sharing your struggles as well as your accomplishments. And you do have many accomplishments to be proud of.
First off, Congratulations. This is an amazing step you are taking and it is all that you described. Exciting and scary all at once. I’m other words normal. Take it from someone who moved across the country with basically no plan.
As far as your sobriety, Just keep doing the next right thing. Lean into your spirituality which will always be there for you. I am available to talk more about the sobriety part anytime if you want. As you know, I get it!!
I love the updates and looking forward to hearing more about your adventures!
